COVERS

This exhibition centres around reimagined album cover art. 40 artists were invited to create a unique interpretation of their favourite musical album or album cover. Rather than referencing the original cover artwork, each artist creates a reaction to the music that is symbolic, evocative, and personally inspired by the music.
As one of the artists, I had the incredible opportunity to reimagine an album cover from Björk’s mesmerising music album ‘Vespertine,’ I experimented with and explored different colour themes and new techniques this time, which was an exciting journey. As a long-time fan, it was an absolute honour and thrill to recreate her album for this show. The exhibition is at the Modern Eden Gallery in San Francisco, California, U.S.

Serene Reverie

“Serene Reverie”, a unique and personal tribute to Björk’s mesmerising music album ‘Vespertine,’ is my latest exploration. This opportunity to reimagine an album cover from one of my most beloved artists was an incredible experience. It was not about simply recreating the original cover but instead tapping into my response to the music, my emotions and memories that surface when enveloped in Björk’s melodic storytelling.
While creating “Serene Reverie”, I decided to venture into a new artistic realm, experimenting with different colour themes that echo the eclectic, delicate, yet robust nature of ‘Vespertine’. The journey was as much a self-discovery as it was an artistic endeavour.
It is an intimate homage to the music that has touched my soul and inspired my work. It represents a meditative state, a serene dream induced by the ethereal Vespertine strains.
As a long-time fan of Björk, creating “Serene Reverie” has been an absolute honour and thrill, a milestone in my artistic journey. I hope this piece resonates with viewers, inviting them into my reverie and sharing the serene joy that Björk’s music brings.
